Parts of the United States are preparing for another round of winter weather as forecasters warn of heavy snow and strong winds across sections of the Rocky Mountains this week. The National Weather Service said some areas could see up to 10 inches of snowfall alongside wind gusts reaching 50 mph.
Snowfall Returning to Wyoming and Montana
After calmer conditions over recent days, snowfall is expected to return across parts of Wyoming and Montana during the week. According to forecasts from the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall will remain concentrated in higher-altitude areas along the Rocky Mountains.
Some mountain regions could receive more than 10 inches of snow as temperatures remain low across the area. Officials warned that snowfall could create icy roads, reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions in affected locations.

Strong Winds Could Create Dangerous Conditions
Forecasters also warned of powerful wind gusts developing across parts of the region. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 mph in northwestern Wyoming by Tuesday night, particularly across mountainous areas.
Northern Montana is also expected to experience strong winds of around 40 mph near the North Dakota border. The combination of snow and strong winds could lead to hazardous conditions throughout parts of the Rockies this week.
Buffalo, Wyoming Could See Heaviest Snow
The city of Buffalo, Wyoming, and nearby mountain areas are expected to see some of the most significant snowfall during the latest storm system. Snow could begin Monday night before additional storms move through later in the week.
The National Weather Service forecast for the area warned of breezy conditions, colder temperatures and periods of accumulating snowfall.
Drivers Warned Over Travel Conditions
Officials are urging residents and drivers to monitor local forecasts closely as conditions change throughout the week. People travelling through affected mountain regions are being advised to avoid unnecessary journeys during periods of heavy snow and high winds.
Emergency agencies are also encouraging motorists to prepare winter travel kits containing food, water and emergency supplies in case conditions worsen suddenly.
Winter Weather Continues Across Mountain Regions
Although much of the country is expected to remain dry this week, winter weather continues affecting parts of the Rocky Mountains after several weeks of snowstorms in the region.
Forecasters warned that sudden weather changes, icy roads and reduced visibility could continue causing disruption in higher-altitude areas over the coming days.
