The recalls are aimed particularly at people with food allergies, intolerances or coeliac disease. According to the Food Standards Agency, customers who have affected products and are sensitive to the allergens involved should not eat them and should instead return them for a refund.

Pot Noodle Batch Recalled After Production Error

Unilever has recalled one batch of Pot Noodle Piri-Piri Chicken Flavour 90g after a production error resulted in milk and other ingredients being present without being declared in the ingredients list.

The affected products carry batch code L6232PB796 and have a best-before date of May 2027. Both details are printed on the top of the foil lid. Other batches of Pot Noodle Piri-Piri Chicken Flavour, along with other Pot Noodle products, are not included in the recall.

According to Unilever, the mistake occurred when Pot Noodle Original Curry seasoning mix was accidentally added during production instead of the intended Piri-Piri seasoning mix. The Original Curry seasoning contains cheese powder made from milk, meaning the affected Piri-Piri Chicken products contain milk even though it does not appear in the main ingredients list.

Milk is listed on the packaging under the precautionary “may contain” statement, but the company said the undeclared ingredients could still pose a safety risk to people with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

Customers are being told not to consume the affected batch. They can contact Unilever’s Consumer Careline for guidance and a refund by emailing [email protected] or calling 0800 146 252. Unilever said proof of purchase is not required, although customers may be asked to provide a photograph showing the batch code and best-before date.

Home Bargains Recalls Two Lambertz Christmas Biscuit Products

A separate recall concerns Lambertz Mini Spekulatius and Lambertz Christmas Tree Cookies sold at Home Bargains. The products contain several allergens that are not declared in English on their labels.

The affected Lambertz Mini Spekulatius come in 150g packs with a best-before date of 30 August 2027. Lambertz Christmas Tree Cookies are sold in 160g packs, with affected products carrying a best-before date of 17 May 2027.

According to the Food Standards Agency, the biscuits contain barley and wheat containing gluten, hazelnuts, milk, lactose, whey and soya lecithin. They may also contain egg, lupin, other nuts, peanuts and sesame.

The agency said the products could therefore present a health risk to people with coeliac disease, allergies or intolerances involving the listed ingredients. Lambertz has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations so that their members can be informed of the recall.

Customers who have bought either of the affected Lambertz products and have one of the relevant allergies or intolerances are being advised not to eat them. They should return the biscuits to their local Home Bargains store for a full refund, while further information is available from Home Bargains through [email protected].
