The recall concerns the Honeycomb Blast Choc Bar made by Buttermilk Confections. According to the FSA, the product contains milk that is not declared on the packaging, creating a potential health risk for people who are allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents.
The warning applies only to a particular batch and best-before date. Customers who have purchased the affected product are being advised to check the details carefully and return it to the retailer for a refund if necessary. The recall has been accompanied by notices in stores and communications with allergy support organisations to help ensure affected consumers are informed.
Undeclared milk prompts nationwide allergy alert
According to the FSA, Buttermilk Confections is recalling its Honeycomb Blast Choc Bar because it contains milk, specifically casein, which is not listed on the label. The agency stated that this omission makes the product a “possible health risk” for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
The affected product is sold in 45g packs and carries the batch code BM26105. The best-before date printed on the recalled bars is 15 June 2027. The FSA’s Allergy Alert explains that food products may be withdrawn from shelves or recalled from consumers when there is a risk linked to incorrect or missing allergen information. In this case, the concern centres on undeclared milk content.
According to the agency, the recall has been assigned reference number FSA-AA-30-2026. The regulator noted that food allergy risks can arise when mandatory allergen labelling is missing or inaccurate, prompting formal alerts to protect consumers.
Consumers advised not to eat affected batch
Buttermilk Confections has issued a point-of-sale notice outlining the action customers should take if they have purchased the recalled chocolate bar. The company stated: “If you have bought Buttermilk Honeycomb Blast Choc Bar as detailed above, do not eat it.”
Customers are being asked to check whether they have purchased a bar carrying the batch code BM26105 and the best-before date of 15 June 2027. The company advised consumers to photograph the recall notice or make a note of the batch information before checking products at home.
According to the information published by the FSA, anyone who has purchased the affected product and has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents should return it to the store where it was bought. A full refund is available, whether or not a receipt is provided.
The FSA also reported that Buttermilk Confections has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations so that information about the recall can be shared with their members.
The agency reiterated that consumers affected by the allergy risk should not eat the chocolate bar and should instead return it to the retailer. The recall remains limited to the Honeycomb Blast Choc Bar in the specified pack size, batch code and best-before date identified in the alert.
