Sam’s Club has confirmed that all of its roughly 600 US stores will close for two major holidays this year, meaning shoppers will not be able to visit physical locations on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. The closures are scheduled for November 26 and December 25, with online shopping remaining available.
All Sam’s Club Stores Will Close On Two Holidays
Sam’s Club will close its entire store network on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, and Christmas Day, December 25. The retailer followed the same policy last year.
The closures mean customers will not be able to shop inside Sam’s Club locations on either holiday. The company’s website will continue operating, although orders placed on those days may not be processed until the following day.
The decision follows a wider retail practice of closing stores on Thanksgiving and Christmas so employees can spend time with their families.
Sam’s Club Will Open On Christmas Eve
Shoppers will still have an opportunity to visit Sam’s Club shortly before Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Plus members will be able to shop from 8am to 6pm. Regular Club members will have access from 9am to 6pm.
Customers planning to shop in person should check their local store information before travelling, as individual circumstances can affect opening times.

New Year’s Eve Will Follow The Same Schedule
Sam’s Club will use the same holiday schedule on New Year’s Eve. Plus members will be able to shop between 8am and 6pm, while regular Club members will have access from 9am to 6pm.
The retailer’s normal holiday schedule means customers should plan ahead if they need groceries or other products around these dates.
Other Retailers Are Also Closing For Thanksgiving
Sam’s Club is not alone in closing its physical stores on Thanksgiving. Major retailers including Walmart and The Home Depot have also announced Thanksgiving closures.
Many restaurants and banks also reduce their operations or close on major holidays. Some businesses will remain open, though. Cracker Barrel plans to operate normal hours across its locations on Thanksgiving, with its traditional Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing meal available from 11am.
Some Applebee’s restaurants will also open on Thanksgiving, although opening times vary by location. Customers are advised to check the restaurant’s online location tool before visiting.
Shoppers Should Plan Around The Holiday Closures
Sam’s Club members who need to make an in-store purchase around Thanksgiving or Christmas will need to plan around the two full-day closures.
The website will remain available during the holidays, but orders placed on Thanksgiving or Christmas may not be processed until the following day.
For customers relying on a physical store, the safest option is to complete essential shopping before the holiday closures begin.
