Tesco has announced a major new deal for online shoppers, with delivery slot prices dropping to as low as £1 for a limited time next week. The supermarket confirmed the nationwide promotion will run for two days only and includes every available delivery slot.
Tesco Shoppers Can Book Delivery Slots for as Little as £1
The limited-time promotion will run on Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, with every available delivery slot included in the deal.
Tesco said customers booking through Tesco.com or the Tesco Grocery app will be able to secure four-hour and flexi saver delivery slots for £1, while all standard one-hour delivery slots will be reduced to £2.
The discounted prices are already live online, allowing shoppers to reserve slots in advance before availability becomes limited. Normally, Tesco delivery costs vary depending on the selected time and location. Peak-time slots are usually more expensive, especially during evenings and weekends when demand is highest.
Tesco Continues Expanding Online Grocery Services
Tesco remains one of the UK’s largest online supermarket operators, processing more than one million online grocery orders every week.
Its Home Delivery service allows shoppers to order groceries up to three weeks ahead of delivery dates. Most online orders require a minimum spend of £50, although delivery availability and pricing can vary depending on the area, explains Dailymirror.
The retailer also operates Delivery Saver plans for regular online customers. These subscription services normally start from around £2.49 per month and remove individual delivery charges for shoppers placing frequent orders.
The latest two-day promotion gives customers access to lower-cost delivery without signing up for a monthly subscription.
Tesco Pushes More Discounts Through Clubcard and Price Match Schemes
Alongside the online delivery offer, Tesco continues promoting several other savings initiatives aimed at attracting customers dealing with rising household costs. Clubcard members can unlock lower prices on selected products while collecting points that later convert into vouchers and reward deals.
Tesco recently confirmed a major expansion of its Aldi Price Match scheme, which now covers more than 2,000 Tesco Express stores across the UK. The scheme currently includes over 200 products, including everyday essentials such as milk, pasta, lettuce and other grocery staples.
Products included in the initiative carry the Aldi Price Match logo on shelves so shoppers can quickly identify discounted items.
Supermarkets Face Growing Pressure From Cost-Conscious Shoppers
The latest Tesco promotion arrives as supermarkets continue competing aggressively for customers looking to reduce spending wherever possible. Online grocery shopping remains popular across the UK, although many households have become more selective about delivery fees and extra charges.
Tesco’s temporary £1 delivery offer could help attract shoppers who may otherwise avoid online orders because of rising costs. With the promotion only running for two days, demand for the cheapest delivery slots is expected to be high once bookings increase next week.
