A range of children’s trousers sold by Boden has been recalled after a safety issue was identified involving the waist fastenings. The recall affects several versions of the company’s Girls Wide Leg Trousers that were sold between July and October 2025.

According to information published by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), cracked poppers on the trousers may develop sharp edges that could cause cuts to fingers or legs during normal use. Customers who purchased the affected products have been advised to stop using them immediately.

Safety Concern Linked to Cracked Waist Fastenings

The recall applies to Boden Girls Wide Leg Trousers sold in sizes 2–3 years, 3–4 years, 4–5 years, 5–6 years, and 7–8 years. The affected product codes are G5531 and G4865, covering a number of color and pattern variations.

According to the OPSS, the products present “a risk of cuts” because cracked poppers at the waist may develop sharp edges. The agency stated that these edges could cause injuries to fingers or legs during use. It also said the products do not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. The notice recommends that consumers stop using the trousers immediately and return them to Boden for a full refund.

Boden issued its own urgent recall notice and said it had become aware that the products had “fallen below our strict technical and safety standards.” The company explained that cracked snap buttons located at the waist side could develop sharp edges and potentially cause cuts, leading to the decision to recall the garments.

The affected products include trousers sold from July 1, 2025, through October 31, 2025. Customers are being encouraged to check product details carefully to determine whether their purchase is included in the recall.

Customers Advised to Check PO Numbers and Arrange Refunds

To identify affected garments, Boden has provided a list of specific PO numbers associated with the recalled trousers. According to the company’s recall notice, these numbers can be found at the top of the first page of the care label located on the left-hand side of the garment as worn. The recalled PO numbers are:

  • G5531 MDN – 660046, 660050, 660604
  • G5531 DDN – 662354, 662355
  • G5531 PNK – 663497
  • G4865 MDN – 661419, 662938
  • G4865 DEN – 663091

According to Boden, customers who own any of the affected products should stop using them immediately and verify whether their garment matches the listed details. In the United States recall notice, the company instructed customers to cut the garment in half and email a photograph together with their name and order number to [email protected] in order to receive a full refund.

The company also addressed situations where the trousers were purchased as gifts, advising gift recipients to contact its customer service team directly.

Boden said it was “truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause” and encouraged customers with questions to contact the company for assistance. The recall remains focused on the identified Girls Wide Leg Trouser products carrying the specified product and PO numbers.
