An urgent recall has been issued for the Enfinigy Water Kettle (1.5L) and Enfinigy Pro Water Kettle (1.5L) sold in stores like Currys, House of Fraser, Robert Dyas, Fenwick, and Selfridges. The kettles pose a serious risk of spilling hot water, potentially causing severe burns. The recall comes after reports of handles loosening or detaching during use.

The Risk of Scalding and Burns

Zwilling, the company behind the kettles, has acknowledged one case of second-degree burns and is taking immediate action. The faulty kettles can be identified by the “MAX 1.5L” display or the “10” cup capacity marking on the side. Customers who purchased these kettles are strongly urged to return them for a full refund.

Shoppers may not have realized how dangerous this could be, but the risk is serious. When the handle becomes loose or breaks off, it can cause the hot water to spill out, leading to potential scalding accidents. This issue has raised significant concern, especially after the burn injury report.

Zwilling’s Response and Refund Offer

Zwilling has issued a statement confirming their commitment to customer safety, acknowledging the risks associated with the kettles. They have announced that anyone who returns their faulty kettle will receive a full refund, reports Birminghammail.

The company has expressed regret over the situation and reassured customers that their products will be evaluated for safety moving forward.

The Recall Comes Amid Other Safety Concerns

This kettle recall is the latest in a series of product safety concerns. Recently, a recall was also issued for certain pressure washers, which posed a risk of electric shock due to faulty insulation.

These pressure washers, sold under the brand name Yongkang Champagne Industry and Trade, were pulled from the market after the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) identified a serious risk of electric shock.

In addition to the kettles, Brits are being warned to exercise caution when purchasing products online, particularly on websites like Temu, Amazon, and AliExpress, where similar products are still being sold. Shoppers are advised to check reviews and be aware of safety recalls before making a purchase.

What You Should Do If You Have One of the Recalled Kettles

If you own an Enfinigy Water Kettle or Enfinigy Pro Water Kettle, stop using it immediately. Head to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. It’s always a good idea to stay up to date with product recalls to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones. Be vigilant about these safety issues, especially when it comes to household appliances that could pose a risk.
