The expansion builds on the retailer’s existing use of Snappy Technologies’ Order Aggregation (OA) platform, which already supports other online marketplaces. According to reports, the new partnership is intended to give customers greater flexibility while simplifying the management of multiple ordering channels.

The announcement reflects the continued growth of online grocery services offered by convenience retailers, with East of England Co-op extending its digital reach without changing its existing operational workflow. The retailer said the integration enables customers to access products from their local stores more quickly while allowing staff to manage marketplace orders through one platform.

Uber Eats Partnership Extends Delivery Network across East Anglia

Thirty-three East of England Co-op food stores are now available through Uber Eats following the launch of the new partnership. Customers can use the platform to order groceries, fresh food and household essentials from participating local stores.

According to Retail Times, the service is powered by Snappy Technologies’ Order Aggregation platform, which enables retailers to manage multiple online ordering channels through a single integration. East of England Co-op already uses the same platform for orders placed through Snappy Shopper and Foodhub, meaning the addition of Uber Eats does not require a separate operational process.

Simon Dryell, chief commercial officer at East of England Co-op, said the retailer was pleased to introduce the service across its food stores. He said Snappy Technologies’ platform had provided “a fast and efficient route” to launching on Uber Eats while simplifying the management of the retailer’s online channels. Dryell added that the partnership helps the business respond to changing customer needs by making products available “quickly and easily” through local East of England Co-op stores.

Single Platform Aims to Simplify Online Order Management

The retailer said the expansion allows it to increase its online reach while continuing to process marketplace orders through one operational workflow. According to reports, this approach gives customers more flexibility in how they choose to shop while reducing the complexity of managing different delivery services.

Andy Batt, vice-president of Snappy Technologies, said retailers increasingly want to offer customers multiple ways to shop but that operating separate marketplace integrations can become complex. He said the company’s Order Aggregation platform allows retailers to connect with leading delivery platforms through a single integration while maintaining operational efficiency.

According to Retail Times, Snappy Technologies forms part of Snappy Group alongside Snappy Shopper and Snappy Media. The group provides retailers with technology covering order aggregation, electronic point-of-sale integrations, last-mile delivery and retail media services.

The same source also reported that Snappy Group has processed more than 20 million customer orders through its technology platform and generated more than £500 million in retailer sales. The company said its systems now support thousands of convenience retailers across the UK.

The Uber Eats launch represents the latest stage in East of England Co-op’s existing relationship with Snappy Technologies, extending the retailer’s online grocery offering while continuing to use the same technology platform already in place.
