The recall was issued by Shenzhen Okabesini Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Okabesini-us, after one reported incident involving respiratory distress or choking. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the toy violates the mandatory federal safety standard for toys because its silicone strings are smaller and longer than permitted.
Why the Little Rawr teething toy is being recalled
The recalled teether is a blue, disc-shaped toy with a blue ball positioned in the center. Five multicolored silicone pull strings, described as resembling tentacles, pass through the central ball, while the disc also includes eight soft push buttons. The product measures 5.7 inches wide, 5.7 inches tall and 7.8 inches long. It was packaged individually in a white box carrying the “little rawr” logo on the front.
According to the CPSC, the silicone strings can extend far enough into a child’s mouth to reach the back of the throat and become lodged. Regulators said this creates a risk of respiratory distress and a potentially deadly choking hazard.
The company is aware of one report in which the toy’s strings reached the back of a child’s throat. The incident resulted in respiratory distress or choking, the federal agency reported. No other incidents or injuries were listed in the recall notice.
Consumers can identify the affected product through information printed on its packaging. The back of the box includes the manufacturer’s address and email, along with model number C-MBE-024. Identification number X004Q55E07 appears beneath the barcode label. There is no identifying information printed directly on the toy itself.
What Parents and Caregivers Should Do With the Recalled Toy
The Little Rawr teethers were sold exclusively through Amazon.com from September 2025 through April 2026. They cost between $11 and $15 and were manufactured in China. Consumers who have the recalled toy should stop using it immediately and remove it from children, according to the CPSC. Okabesini-us is offering a full refund to affected customers.
To obtain the refund, consumers are being asked to destroy the teether by cutting all of its silicone strings. They must also write “RECALLED” on the main body of the product using a permanent marker.
A photograph of the destroyed toy should then be sent to [email protected]. Customers are also asked to provide their order number when it is available. Once those steps have been completed, the destroyed product should be discarded.
