The recall covers two Madewell sweater styles sold nationwide between December 2024 and October 2025. The items were available at Madewell stores, through Madewell.com, and at TJ Maxx locations under the Madewell brand.
The affected products are the Madewell Double V-Neck Pullover sweaters, Style #NT611, and V-Neck Cardigan sweaters, Style #NT612. The sweaters were sold in light blue and cream, with long sleeves and versions available with or without buttons.
Recalled Sweaters Failed Federal Clothing Safety Requirements
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled sweaters do not meet the mandatory flammability standard for clothing textiles. The failure to comply with this requirement creates a burn hazard for consumers wearing the garments.
The recalled sweaters were priced between $138 and $148 when they were sold. Customers who purchased either of the affected styles are encouraged to check their sweaters and confirm whether they match the recalled product details.
The recall applies specifically to the two listed sweater styles and includes items sold through Madewell’s own retail channels as well as TJ Maxx stores.
Madewell Reported One Garment Fire Linked to the Products
Madewell has received one report of a recalled sweater catching fire, according to information released with the recall notice. No injuries have been reported.
