A popular fruit puree pouch sold at Kroger, Target and Meijer stores nationwide has been recalled after inspections found a packaging issue that allowed small pieces of soft plastic to appear inside some products. The recall involves Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4 oz. pouches from PT Organics, with consumers urged to check their packages before use.

The recall was announced after a supplier identified defective packaging materials linked to the product. According to information published through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), PT Organics recalled the Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry puree pouches after its packaging supplier issued a recall involving the affected materials.

“PT Organics’ inspections of finished product made with the recalled packaging confirmed the presence of a strand of a soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of a small number of pouches,” the announcement stated.
The affected products were available for purchase between March 6 and July 13, 2026, at the three major retailers. No injuries connected to the recalled pouches have been reported.
The company said the issue was limited to specific packages and encouraged consumers to carefully identify the recalled items rather than discard all similar products. The recall applies only to certain pouches with specific markings and expiration dates.

The recalled pouches also have the number 4 printed on the right side of the pouch seam. The company warned shoppers that similar-looking products remain available and are not included in the recall.
“Please look carefully at the barcode because there are similar looking pouches that are not being recalled,” the company stated in a post on Instagram.
The affected best-before dates include January 19, 2027, January 20, 2027, March 17, 2027, March 18, 2027, May 14, 2027, and May 15, 2027.
