OVO Offers Customers Up to 2,700 Free Miles with Discounted Charging Plan

OVO Energy's new cheap charging plan, Charge Anytime, gives owners of Volvo electric vehicles (EVs) access to almost 2,700 free kilometers. This program enables EV drivers to charge their vehicles at a competitively low rate, facilitating the shift to green energy and lowering the cost of environmentally friendly travel.
A New Way to Save on EV Charging
Only OVO Energy customers with specific Volvo models may take advantage of the Charge Anytime add-on, which gives drivers a remarkably cheap charging rate of 7p per kWh. This rate is equivalent to about 2p per mile. This might result in yearly charging expenses for the typical EV owner of around £217, making OVO's tariffs among the most affordable for EV users in the UK.
Additionally, under the OVO plan, Volvo EV owners only need to connect their cars to a home charger in order to receive the discount. Drivers can charge their cars at the discounted cost day or night because the discount is available around-the-clock.
OVO's Sustainable Partnership Aimed at Expanding EV Adoption
This initiative stems from a partnership between OVO Energy and Volvo aimed at promoting EV adoption by reducing operational costs for drivers. According to Mat Moakes, Chief Commercial Officer at OVO, “We’re committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and rewarding customers for making the switch.”
Nicole Melillo Shaw, Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, emphasized that this partnership maximizes the cost savings and environmental benefits of EV ownership, positioning Volvo's vehicles as top contenders in both efficiency and sustainability.
A Win-Win for Drivers and the Planet
The Charge Anytime add-on is powered by Kaluza, an energy platform specializing in intelligent energy solutions. Neel Gulhar, Chief Product Officer at Kaluza, highlighted the importance of collaborations between carmakers and energy companies to centralize customers in the energy transition. “Integrations like this put customers at the center of the energy transition and ensure nobody gets left behind,” he remarked.
Through this collaboration, OVO Energy is offering Volvo customers a £50 credit to encourage them to join the Charge Anytime program, equivalent to around 2,700 miles (4,345.23 km) of free travel on electric power.
OVO and Volvo’s partnership is expected to make electric vehicle adoption more accessible and affordable, supporting the green energy movement while benefiting the pockets of UK EV owners.
