More than 200,000 pool toys sold online have been recalled after being found to pose an impalement hazard for children. Joyce US Corp announced the recall of 254,000 Sloosh Dive Sticks on June 11 following a report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The dive sticks exceed federal compression limits, meaning children could suffer serious injuries if they fall on them in shallow water.
Which Pool Toys Are Affected
The recall specifically targets Sloosh diving sticks sold in a 30-pack of pool toys. The model number for the pack is 40041, printed on the back of the box next to the barcode and on each dive stick. The sticks are cylinder-shaped, about 7 inches long and less than 1 inch in diameter, and come in various colors, including red, yellow, green, and orange.
According to the CPSC report, Joyce US Corp is not aware of any injuries related to the recalled items as of the announcement date.

Where and When the Toys Were Sold
The recalled Sloosh Dive Sticks were sold through Amazon, Temu, Shein, Walmart.com, and Target.com. They were priced between $17 and $22 and were available for purchase from February 2019 through October 23, 2025. Consumers who purchased the toys during this period should check the model number carefully before use.

What to Do If You Own the Recalled Toys
Parents and caregivers are advised to stop using the diving sticks immediately. Joyce US Corp instructs consumers to take a photo of the dive sticks in the trash and email it to [email protected]. Once verified, the company will send redesigned dive sticks that meet federal safety standards.
Consumers may contact Joyce directly for questions at 800-781-3067, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. MT.
Other Toys in the Pack Are Safe
The recall only applies to the Sloosh Dive Sticks. Other items in the 30-pack, including diving rings, torpedo bandits, funny face squids, octopuses, diving balls, and diving fish, are safe for play, according to the CPSC report. Families can continue to use these other toys without concern.
The recall highlights the importance of checking pool toys for compliance with safety regulations, particularly for items used in shallow water. Even popular online marketplaces like Amazon, Shein, and Temu can carry recalled or hazardous products, making vigilance essential for parents.
