About 250,000 Cooluli mini fridges sold through Amazon and the manufacturer are being recalled after reports of units smoking, overheating, melting and catching fire. Owners of affected models are being told to unplug them immediately.

Electrical Switch Can Short Circuit

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the nationwide recall on August 13, 2026, covering certain Cooluli 10-liter and 15-liter mini fridges.

According to the agency, an electrical switch inside the recalled appliances can short circuit, creating fire and burn hazards.

Importer Lisse USA LLC, which operates as Cooluli and is based in Brooklyn, New York, has received at least 19 reports involving units that smoked, sparked, burned, melted, overheated or caught fire.

Those incidents have caused more than $80,000 in property damage, according to the recall notice. One consumer also reported a smoke inhalation injury.

About 250,000 Units Were Sold From 2019 to 2024

The recall covers approximately 250,000 mini fridges sold nationwide through Amazon.com and Cooluli.com between January 2019 and October 2024.

Consumers paid between $80 and $120 for the appliances.

The affected products were manufactured in China and sold across several Cooluli product lines, including Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe. Depending on the model, they came in black, blue, green, white and red, along with various multicolored designs and branded patterns.

How to Check Whether Your Cooluli Mini Fridge Is Recalled

Not every Cooluli mini fridge is covered by the recall. Owners need to check the identification label located inside the refrigerator door.

The recall applies to specified models with batch numbers 1535 through 1545 and 1200000 through 1202080.

Another identifying feature is the power configuration. The recalled refrigerators have an internal power supply with both AC and DC input ports on the back. Their removable power cords do not use the external power-adapter “brick” commonly found with laptops and other electronics.

Consumers who find a matching model and batch number should stop using the appliance and unplug it immediately, according to the CPSC.

What Owners Should Do With a Recalled Mini Fridge

Cooluli is providing a remedy rather than asking consumers to continue operating the refrigerator as originally configured.

Affected owners are instructed to cut the power cord and provide the company with photographs showing the cut cord, along with the refrigerator’s model and batch numbers.

Cooluli will then provide a free replacement DC power cord and a permanent sticker intended to cover the appliance’s AC port so it can no longer be used.
