IKEA is introducing a limited-time initiative across its UK stores aimed at attracting weekend footfall and encouraging early-day visits. The retailer is rolling out this campaign nationally, targeting members of its loyalty program over a defined period in the autumn and early winter months.

According to a report published by Manchester Evening News, the offer is scheduled to begin mid-September and will continue through the run-up to Christmas. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance in-store engagement and promote associated services. Details vary slightly by location, and specific eligibility criteria apply depending on customer status and participation.

What’s Included in the £1 ‘Full Swedish’ Breakfast

The offer features the ‘Full Swedish’ breakfast, which includes bacon, sausage, hash brown, omelette, baked beans, and grilled tomato. A vegetarian option is available as well, though details of its composition vary by store.

Available exclusively to IKEA Family members, the promotion is part of the retailer’s continued effort to provide affordable experiences, particularly at a time when many households—including those receiving DWP benefits—are facing increased pressure on everyday spending.

The offer is valid every Saturday until 11am, and membership to the IKEA Family program is free of charge.

Official Statement From IKEA UK

Tania Douglas, commercial activities leader at IKEA UK & Ireland, said:

At IKEA, we believe in making the everyday a little more wonderful, and that starts with a great morning.
Our new £1 breakfast offer is all about giving our customers a delicious, affordable start to their weekend. We know that a good meal can set the tone for the entire day, and we want to help them fuel up for a day of inspiration, whether they’re hunting for that perfect piece of furniture or just looking for a fun, family-friendly outing.

This initiative aligns with IKEA’s broader aim to create value-driven experiences, particularly during the run-up to the holiday season when both spending and family outings typically increase—especially for families relying on DWP benefits.

Special Weekend Events at Selected Stores

To coincide with the launch of the breakfast promotion, IKEA is hosting a series of in-store events at select UK locations.

At the Ashton store on Saturday, September 13, customers can attend a breakfast party from 10am to 4pm, with live DJ sets, interactive “design your dream breakfast” stations, and a chef-led tasting session running from 10am to 3pm. A scavenger hunt for children will also be held.

Meanwhile, the Warrington store—featuring a newly refurbished restaurant—will host a Kitchen Disco on Saturday from 11am to 5pm, transforming the restaurant into a vibrant, feel-good space. The children’s scavenger hunt will run both Saturday and Sunday, encouraging kids to search for items like frying pans while completing themed activity sheets.

Exclusive IKEA Family Discounts on Homeware

In addition to the breakfast promotion, IKEA is offering further savings to IKEA Family members on kitchen, dining, cooking, and eating products, valid until September 28 both in-store and online:

  • Spend £50 or more and receive £10 off
  • Spend £100 or more and receive £20 off
  • Spend £250 or more and receive £50 off

These offers are open to all IKEA Family members, providing an extra incentive to invest in home upgrades—a timely opportunity for households on DWP benefits to access essential kitchen and dining goods at reduced cost.

How to Access the Deal

To take advantage of the £1 breakfast or any of the additional offers, individuals must be IKEA Family members, which can be set up for free online or in store. More information about store-specific events can be found on each local IKEA store’s events page.

The £1 breakfast deal is available on Saturdays only, ending December 20, and runs until 11am each day. The promotion, especially in the context of rising living costs and greater demand for budget-friendly options—including for people receiving DWP benefits—is part of IKEA’s strategy to deliver affordable everyday experiences throughout the UK.
