The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a product recall notice after the manufacturer, Lucky Saint, identified a potential safety issue with the affected cans. Customers who have purchased the product have been advised not to consume it and to follow disposal guidance provided by the company.
Lucky Saint Recalls Specific Hazy IPA Packs Over Pressure Risk
The recalled product is Lucky Saint 0.5% Hazy IPA in packs containing four 330ml cans. The affected products have a best before date of 13 August 2027, according to the Food Standards Agency.
The FSA stated that some cans may become over-pressurised, creating a risk that they could swell, leak or rupture unexpectedly. The agency said this could cause injury and advised consumers who have bought the affected product not to drink it.
According to the FSA recall notice, point-of-sale notices are being displayed in retail stores selling the product. These notices provide information for customers about the reason for the recall and the steps they should take if they have purchased the affected cans.
Lucky Saint said it was recalling the product because of the possibility that some cans could become over-pressurised. The company advised customers to check whether they had bought the affected best before date and to provide proof of purchase to the store for a full refund.
The company also asked consumers not to return the cans to stores. Instead, it advised people to handle the cans as little as possible, place them upright in a sealed bag and dispose of them with household waste.
Food Safety Advice Issued for Affected Consumers
The recall forms part of the food safety process used in the UK when a product may not be suitable for sale. According to the FSA, products can be withdrawn from shelves or recalled when a problem is identified, with recall notices used to inform consumers and local authorities. The agency explained that, in some situations, a Food Alert for Action may also be issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to take on behalf of consumers.
The current recall notice, published by the FSA on 23 September 2026, applies only to the specified Lucky Saint Hazy IPA packs and best before date. Consumers who have other Lucky Saint products are not included in this recall notice.
Lucky Saint apologised for the inconvenience caused by the recall and thanked customers for their understanding. The company’s guidance focuses on preventing consumers from drinking potentially affected cans and ensuring they are disposed of safely.
The FSA advised customers with questions about the recalled product to follow the instructions provided in the official point-of-sale notice. The recall remains limited to the identified four-pack of 330ml cans with the stated date marking.
