Ford, Kia and Stellantis have announced sweeping vehicle recalls involving more than 475,000 cars across key global markets, following the discovery of potentially dangerous mechanical and structural defects. The affected models span production years from 2023 to 2025, raising concerns about the reliability of newly manufactured vehicles.

According to the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and statements from the manufacturers, the issues include faulty axle components, detaching exterior trim and defective fuel lines. Although no injuries have yet been reported, the manufacturers have urged vehicle owners to follow up promptly with authorized dealerships for free inspections and repairs.

Ford and Kia Issue Safety-Based Recalls Affecting Major US Models

Ford has recalled over 103,000 of its F-150 pickups produced between 2023 and 2025. According to the NHTSA, a specific rear axle hub bolt can fracture in vehicles fitted with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and 9.75-inch heavy-duty axles.

If the bolt fails, it could cause the truck to roll away while in park if the parking brake is not applied, or result in sudden loss of drive power. The company has received 194 warranty claims since September 2023, but no accidents or injuries have been reported to date. Replacement of the affected axle shaft assemblies will begin from 18 August 2025.

Kia has issued two separate recalls affecting more than 300,000 vehicles. One affects 201,149 Telluride SUVs (model years 2023–2025) over concerns that the door belt molding trim may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating a hazard for nearby road users. A second recall targets 100,063 K5 sedans, where rear window trim components may delaminate and fall off. In both cases, authorized dealers will replace the relevant trim assemblies at no cost to the owners.

Stellantis Recalls UK Vehicles Over Potential Engine Fire Risk

In the UK, Stellantis has launched a large-scale recall covering 72,000 vehicles spanning eight of its brands, including Peugeot, Fiat, Citroën, Jeep and Vauxhall. The issue affects models fitted with the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine manufactured between 2023 and 2025.

According to a Stellantis spokesperson, the problem lies in loosened nuts on a high-pressure fuel pipe, which may cause fuel to leak between the pump and the rail. This could increase the risk of an engine fire under certain conditions. While no incidents have been officially reported, the recall is being implemented as a precaution. Owners are being contacted and advised to schedule a check-up and repair through authorized service centers.
