A nasal spray sold on Amazon has been recalled after US regulators raised concerns about microbiological contamination, including yeast and possible mold. The issue was identified following testing and reported in a June 12 notice from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Nasal Spray Recall Linked to Contamination and Safety Concerns
The product involved is Beekeeper’s Naturals Saline Nasal Spray, which was found to have exceeded acceptable microbial limits for yeast during quality testing. The company confirmed the findings and initiated a voluntary recall after identifying the issue.
Around 585 units of the spray were sold between April 2 and April 24, according to the FDA announcement. The company also reported four adverse reactions potentially linked to use of the product.

In addition to yeast contamination, the nasal spray may have been exposed to Aspergillus mold, a fungus commonly found in soil. Health experts warn that in some cases this type of contamination can lead to serious respiratory infections, particularly in people with weakened immune systems or underlying lung conditions.
