Amazon is hiring more than 300,000 workers across the US for the holiday shopping season, with seasonal, part-time and full-time positions available across its operations network. The retailer expects new vacancies to be posted weekly from October through December, giving jobseekers more chances to apply during the busy shopping period.
Amazon Is Recruiting For Seasonal, Part-Time And Full-Time Jobs
The new positions span Amazon’s US core operations network. The recruitment drive includes seasonal, part-time and full-time jobs, with vacancies expected to appear throughout the holiday period.
Amazon said seasonal employees will earn an average of $20 an hour, while full-time operations workers start at a minimum of $20 an hour. Average hourly pay across Amazon’s core operations workforce is nearly $24.
Seasonal Workers Could Get New Healthcare Benefits
Amazon has also announced changes to its healthcare benefits for seasonal employees. From January 1, 2027, seasonal workers who work at least 30 hours per week will qualify for healthcare coverage from their first day of employment.
The company said plans will start at $5 per week, with $5 copays. Seasonal employees hired before January 1 who meet the eligibility requirements will also receive the coverage once the new benefit begins.

Holiday Recruitment Is Rising For The First Time In Three Years
The hiring drive marks Amazon’s first increase in holiday recruitment in three years, according to Reuters. The company is preparing for an expected increase in orders during the holiday shopping period.
Amazon has used seasonal hiring for years to handle the additional demand associated with the end-of-year shopping period. The latest recruitment figure represents a substantial expansion in the number of workers being sought for the 2026 holiday season.
Amazon Recently Increased Pay Across Its Operations Workforce
The hiring announcement follows Amazon‘s recent investment of more than $1.5 billion in additional pay for its US core operations workforce. The company said the investment reflects its focus on supporting employees across its operations network.
Amazon also said workers joining for a single season or seeking a longer career should feel valued and supported.
New Jobs Could Appeal To Holiday Jobseekers
The seasonal positions could appeal to people looking for temporary work during the holiday period, as well as applicants seeking a path into longer-term employment. With vacancies expected to be posted weekly through December, the available positions are likely to vary by location and business need.
Applicants will need to check individual job listings for details on working hours, pay and eligibility.
Amazon Prepares For A Busy Holiday Season
The recruitment drive comes as Amazon prepares for one of the busiest periods of the retail calendar. More than 300,000 jobs are being advertised across the country, while the company is also expanding benefits for qualifying seasonal employees.
For people looking for work before the holidays, Amazon’s recruitment programme provides a large number of positions across its US operations network, with new vacancies expected to continue appearing through the end of the year.
