KTM North America has recalled about 21,040 GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles in the United States because a rear brake component can crack or break, reducing braking effectiveness and creating a risk of serious injury or death in a crash. Another 4,140 motorcycles were sold in Canada.
The recall covers certain 2021 through 2024 models sold by authorized GASGAS and Husqvarna dealers. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, owners should stop riding the affected motorcycles immediately and arrange a free repair through an authorized dealer. Rear Brake Caliper Can Crack or Break During Use
The problem involves the motorcycles’ rear brake caliper. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the component can crack or break, which can reduce the effectiveness of the braking system and create a crash hazard that could result in serious injury or death.
The recall includes a broad range of GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles from model years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Husqvarna models named in the recall include the FE 350, FE 501, TE 150i, TE 250i and TE 300i from the 2022 model year, along with multiple TE, FE, FX and TX models from 2023 and 2024.

Owners Are Being Told to Stop Riding Affected Motorcycles
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using recalled motorcycles immediately and contact an authorized GASGAS or Husqvarna Motorcycle dealer to schedule the free repair. Fox Business reported that no injuries had been reported in connection with the affected motorcycles at the time of the announcement.
Owners can identify the motorcycles partly by their appearance. GASGAS models are red and carry a white GASGAS logo on both sides of the shrouds. Husqvarna models are white, blue and yellow and display the Husqvarna logo on both sides.
The vehicle identification number is located on the right side of the steering head. According to the CPSC recall notice, consumers can use the VIN to determine whether an individual motorcycle is included in the recall by checking the recall tools available on the GASGAS and Husqvarna websites.
