According to AT&T, select retired unlimited wireless plans will receive a monthly plan charge increase in 2026. The company said the adjustment applies to older plans that are being phased out and is intended to support “reliable network service, quality products, and great customer experiences.”
The changes affect individual and family customers with certain unlimited plans activated between July 24, 2025, and November 1, 2025. Customers who choose not to change their plans will see the new prices appear on their bills starting August 1, 2026.
Retired Unlimited Plans Affected by the Price Increase
The affected plans include AT&T Unlimited Plus, AT&T Unlimited Choice, AT&T Unlimited Choice II, AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced, AT&T Unlimited Choice Enhanced, AT&T Unlimited & More, AT&T Unlimited & More Premium, and AT&T Unlimited Plan (Double Play).
Customers who keep these retired plans will see different increases depending on the type of service. A single line will increase by $10 per month, while customers with multiple lines will face a $20 monthly increase. AT&T specified that the $20 increase applies to the total plan cost and is not charged separately for each line.
According to the company, customers with older wireless plans activated before the specified July 24, 2025, to November 1, 2025, period had already been affected by a similar price increase since April.
AT&T Encourages Customers to Move to Newer Plans
AT&T is asking customers with the retired plans to upgrade instead of accepting the higher monthly charges. The company said users who switch plans will receive an additional 20 gigabytes of hotspot data each month.
The available replacement options include AT&T Elite 2.0, AT&T Premium 2.0, AT&T Extra 2.0, and AT&T Value 2.0. AT&T also provides a comparison tool on its website to help customers review potential savings or added benefits from changing plans.
According to the company’s announcement, the upgrade option is designed to offer customers more value while moving users away from plans that are no longer available.
Additional AT&T Fees Will Also Increase in August
Beyond the unlimited plan changes, AT&T customers should also expect higher administrative-related charges. Starting August 5, customers will pay $4.99 per month per line for a fee that currently costs $3.99.
The mobile provider said the charge “helps AT&T recover payments of certain government fees.” Administrative fees will also rise from $2.49 to $3.49 per line each month.
The price adjustments come months after AT&T CEO John Stankey said customer costs could be lowered. The company also recently agreed to pay $177 million as part of a class action settlement.
AT&T customers affected by the retired unlimited plans can use the company’s comparison tool to review their options before the August 1, 2026, billing changes take effect.
