Urgent Recall Alert: These Popular Toys Could Be Dangerous for Your Child

Toys sold on Amazon in the run-up to the festive season have been pulled from sale due to choking hazards, unsecured batteries, and magnetic ingestion risks. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has urged immediate action from parents and gift-givers.

While families unwrap gifts this Christmas, several popular children’s toys sold on Amazon have been urgently recalled due to critical safety violations. The warnings were issued by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) over the past three months.

The products range from writing tablets and dolls to fidget spinners and plush animals. All were deemed unsafe, either because they contain small parts that present a choking hazard or due to unsecured button cell batteries which can be deadly if swallowed. According to the CPSC, button batteries in particular have caused “internal chemical burns and death” in past incidents involving young children.

Among the most widely recalled items is the Inkari Plush Alpaca Toys line, which includes five different sets such as the “naturals”, “baristas” and “monsterfluffs”. These soft toys were sold between November 2020 and July 2025, with around 64,000 units affected. According to the CPSC, the eyes of the toys can detach, violating small parts safety rules and posing a choking hazard to children under the age of three.

Another high-risk product is the Generic Magnetic Ball Sets sold by Ritons, comprising 1,000 small, 3 mm magnetic balls. These were available on Amazon from November 2024 to August 2025, with approximately 5,800 units sold. The magnets can easily be swallowed and, once ingested, may attract to each other inside the digestive tract, leading to serious internal injuries or worse, according to the safety agency.

Also recalled were Magnet Fidget Spinner Sets sold by Anzmtosn. The toys were sold between December 2024 and June 2025, with about 490 units in circulation. The CPSC noted that the packaging displays batch number CCA06582, and the toy’s high-powered magnets are dangerously loose.

Battery-related issues were a recurring theme in the recent recalls. The KTEBO-branded writing tablet toy, sold in packs of two between September and October, was recalled on December 4. About 10,380 units were sold in different colour combinations. The CPSC found that the screw securing the battery compartment could detach, giving children access to button cell batteries.

A similar risk led to the recall of Meaicezli Play Purse Sets, sold from August to October. These pink purse sets include a toy mobile phone and writing tablet, both with easily accessible batteries. Around 3,090 units were sold. According to the CPSC, the toys do not meet mandatory safety standards and pose a serious ingestion risk.

Battery compartment issues were also identified in Bettina Doll Sets that come with a “magic light unicorn”. These were sold in limited numbers, around 380 units, from August to September. According to the safety agency’s November 13 report, the unicorn’s battery compartment is not secure, which creates a similar hazard.

Although no injuries have been reported in relation to any of these products, the CPSC emphasises that button batteries, if ingested, can cause internal chemical burns within hours. The agency has advised families to dispose of the faulty items immediately and follow recall instructions to request a refund or replacement.
