UnitedHealthcare has agreed to a $2.5 million settlement in response to a class action lawsuit accusing the company of making unauthorized telemarketing calls. More than 12,000 individuals may be entitled to compensation, with payouts ranging from $350 to $1,000 per person, depending on how many claims are filed.
The lawsuit, filed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), alleges that UnitedHealthcare placed calls to individuals without their consent between January 9, 2015, and January 9, 2019. If you received these calls, you could be eligible for a cash settlement—but you must act before April 15, 2025.
How Much Money Can You Claim?
While estimates suggest that class members could receive anywhere from $350 to $1,000, the final amount will depend on how many people file valid claims. If every eligible person submits a claim, the payout could be around $90 per claimant.
The lead plaintiff, Frantz Samson, is set to receive a $20,000 service award for his role in the case. Meanwhile, the attorneys handling the lawsuit will take approximately one-third of the settlement fund—about $833,333—as legal fees.
Are You Eligible?
To qualify for compensation, you must have received unauthorized telemarketing calls from UnitedHealthcare within the lawsuit’s four-year period (2015-2019). Eligibility is based on not having given consent to receive these calls—or having explicitly asked not to be contacted again.
The Settlement Administrator is notifying potential claimants via email or postal mail, including a settlement ID and password to access the official settlement website.

- It may also be attached to the postcard notice sent to you.
- Complete the form

- Or mail your completed form (must be postmarked by April 15, 2025).

What Happens Next?
