The update, published on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, identifies several parts of the postal network experiencing difficulties. While collections and deliveries are continuing nationwide, Royal Mail has acknowledged that some locations may not receive their usual level of service.

According to Royal Mail’s official service update, its air network operated to schedule during the previous 24 hours. Problems were instead reported across the road network, where three vehicles reached the Midlands Parcel Hub later than planned.

The late arrivals delayed onward departures to Chelmsford Mail Centre, Medway Mail Centre and Southampton Mail Centre. Consequently, some mail sent from elsewhere in the UK and destined for the CM, CO, IP, SS, CT, DA, ME, TN, PO, SO and SP postcode areas may arrive later than scheduled.

A separate processing issue was reported at Jubilee Mail Centre. Royal Mail confirmed that some mail posted in the GU, KT, SW and TW postcode areas, intended for destinations elsewhere in the country, had not been processed or despatched on schedule.

Local delivery offices have also experienced disruption. According to the company’s service notice, difficulties can arise from staff sickness, resource shortages and other local circumstances. “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week,” Royal Mail said.

Transport Delays Affect Several Mail Centres Across the Country
