The company, established in 1987, arranged holidays to destinations including Turkey, Greece and Portugal. Its departure comes amid a series of closures across the British travel industry in 2026, with several other agencies and airlines entering administration or liquidation. Customers who booked through Wroxham Travel have now been advised to contact their holiday providers directly.

Wroxham Travel Shuts Down After Nearly Four Decades

Wroxham Travel operated from two offices in Norfolk, one on Station Road in Hoveton and another at 29 Red Lion Street in Aylsham. The independent agency had served customers since 1987, offering holiday packages to several popular European destinations.

According to ABTA, the business officially ceased trading on 30 October 2026. The association confirmed the closure in a notice to customers, stating: “We are sorry to inform you that Wroxham Travel has ceased trading with effect from 30 October 2026.” It added: “We are now treating this as a financial failure.”

The company’s ABTA registration numbers were 64591 for its Hoveton office and P7028 for its Aylsham premises.

The closure follows similar developments involving other British travel businesses this year. According to The Herald, companies including Gold Crest Holidays, Simply Florida Travel Ltd, Strachan Travel Ltd and Fraser Travel Ltd have also ceased trading or entered formal insolvency proceedings during 2026.

Other affected businesses include Firefly Holidays, Golf Villa Rentals Ltd, Barnes Worldwide Travel Ltd and Global Travel Partners. Wayfairer Travel Limited has suspended all services until further notice while seeking to appoint an administrator.

Four airlines have also entered administration or liquidation during the year. Ascend Airways and EcoJet Airlines entered liquidation, while Zenith Aviation Limited and European Cargo entered administration.

What Customers Must Do To Protect Their Holiday Bookings

Travellers who arranged holidays through Wroxham Travel have been advised to examine their booking documents and identify the company responsible for providing their trip.

According to ABTA’s official customer guidance, anyone who booked a holiday through the agency should locate the name of the tour operator or principal travel business listed in their paperwork.

For flight-inclusive holidays, the relevant information appears on the ATOL certificate under the heading “Who is protecting your trip”.

Customers should then contact the credit control department of the named tour operator or principal travel business. That company will become their direct point of contact regarding the existing reservation.

ABTA explained: “To ensure your holiday can continue as planned, you will need to contact the credit control department of your tour operator or other principal travel business with whom you have a contract.”

The association added that bookings should continue as normal when customers contact the relevant provider. Travellers have also been instructed to keep their booking documentation available, as operators may request information from those records before assisting them.

For customers affected by the closure, identifying the business named on their booking paperwork is therefore the immediate action recommended by ABTA. The association’s published advice sets out how to contact the appropriate provider and establish direct communication about their holiday arrangements.
