According to the Daily Record<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, people approaching their expiry date can apply early without sacrificing any remaining time on their existing badge. The new permit’s start date will be set for the day after the current badge expires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That detail matters for anyone concerned that submitting an application several weeks early might cause the replacement badge to begin immediately. Instead, an early application can give the council time to process the renewal while the existing badge remains valid until its stated expiry date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What You Need to Renew a Blue Badge Online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The UK government’s online application service handles the majority of applications. The government has said about 90% of Blue Badge applications<\/strong> are submitted through the online system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants should prepare a recent digital photograph showing their head and shoulders. They may also need a photograph or scan of proof of identity<\/strong>, such as a passport, birth certificate or driving licence, as well as proof of address and evidence of benefits where applicable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
