UK broadband provider iTalk Telecom has entered administration after 19 years of trading, placing the company’s future and the position of its customers under review.

The British telecommunications firm, founded in 2007, has now entered a formal insolvency process. The move does not automatically mean that its broadband services will stop, but the company’s operations are now under the control of appointed administrators.

Administrators Take Control Of The Business

According to The Sun, Andrew Pear and Richard Keley of Moorfields Advisory Limited have been appointed as administrators.

Their role is to take control of the company while its financial position is examined and the next steps are determined. Administration can lead to several outcomes, including an attempt to rescue a business, a restructuring of its operations, or a sale of some or all of its assets.

The process itself does not require a company to cease trading immediately. A business can continue operating while administrators assess whether it can remain viable.

What The Administration Means For iTalk Customers

For customers of iTalk Telecom, the immediate impact is less certain.

Entering administration does not by itself mean that broadband connections will be disconnected. Services can continue while administrators determine the company’s position and consider the available options.

The eventual outcome could depend on whether the business can be rescued, restructured or sold. Customers may therefore face a period of uncertainty while that assessment takes place.

Company Accounts Were Already Outstanding

The administration follows a period in which the company had failed to bring its accounts up to date.

Companies House records show outstanding accounts dating back to March 28, 2025. That record provides a further indication of the company’s unresolved financial and reporting position before the formal insolvency process began.

iTalk Telecom has described itself as a group of “internet enthusiasts” focused on providing quality broadband services and making it easier for customers to remain connected.

For now, the administrators’ assessment will determine what happens next to the business and its customer base. Andrew Pear and Richard Keley remain responsible for the administration through Moorfields Advisory Limited.
