Closure Adds to a Wider List of UK Travel Company Failures in 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nFirefly Holidays is one of several UK-based travel businesses to have closed, ceased trading or entered administration during 2026. Other companies <\/strong>named among this year\u2019s closures include Regen Central Ltd, Gold Crest Holidays, Asiara UK Ltd, Simply Florida Travel Ltd, Salamander Voyages, Trav Expert Ltd, Strachan Travel Ltd, Travel Bespoke Ltd, Groupia Ltd, Global Vision International, Ski Yodl and TS Travels Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe travel sector has also seen a number of airline failures during the year. Four UK airlines <\/strong>have entered administration or liquidation: Ascend Airways and EcoJet Airlines went into liquidation, while Zenith Aviation Limited and European Cargo entered administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\nFirefly Holidays had itself referred to the difficult trading environment it faced shortly after launch. According to its LinkedIn page, the company began operating in 2016 amid challenges including Brexit, falling exchange rates and terror attacks in Europe. The same company profile said Firefly Holidays had nevertheless built a strong following, with 99% of surveyed customers saying they would be happy to book again.
