The new collection option extends the existing partnership between Nectar <\/strong>and Uber<\/strong>, which already allows members to exchange points for vouchers covering Uber journeys and Uber Eats orders. Customers can now collect points while purchasing Sainsbury\u2019s groceries through Uber Eats and later use their Nectar balance for available rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Sainsbury<\/a>\u2019s, the rollout covers more than 1,300 locations across the UK, giving customers another way to collect points when using the supermarket\u2019s rapid-delivery service. The scheme applies to eligible grocery purchases with a minimum spend of \u00a31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once a Nectar card has been linked and the purchase qualifies, points will be credited to the customer\u2019s account within 28 days<\/strong>. The points collection option is available only when shoppers select groceries from a participating Sainsbury\u2019s store through Uber Eats and enter their card details before checkout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some products are excluded<\/strong> from earning points. These include gift vouchers, baby milk, lottery tickets, tobacco, vapes, nicotine products, proprietary medicines, spirits and liqueurs. Additional restrictions apply to alcohol purchases in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnership between Nectar and Uber Continues to Develop<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The latest change follows previous links between the two companies, allowing Nectar members to use their points across Uber services. Customers can access the redemption option through the Nectar app by opening the \u201cPartners\u201d section and selecting Uber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Uber Eats general manager for grocery and retail in the UK, Katie Hunter<\/a>, the addition of points on Sainsbury\u2019s orders was designed to allow customers to collect Nectar rewards while using the platform for grocery shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow, they can collect Nectar points on all their Sainsbury\u2019s essentials as well as spending them across the entire Uber app<\/em>,\u201d Hunter said. She added that the partnership focused on flexibility and convenience for customers using the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Given<\/a>, Sainsbury\u2019s chief technology, marketing and data officer, said the expansion provided Nectar members with another way to receive value from the partnership. \u201cNectar members can already turn their points into Uber rides or Uber Eats treats \u2013 and now they can collect points when ordering Sainsbury\u2019s groceries through Uber Eats too<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports on the rollout, the move comes as supermarket loyalty schemes continue to expand across digital delivery platforms.
