The expansion follows an earlier deployment of Parcel Pending by Quadient lockers at 230 Morrisons Daily convenience stores in spring 2025. The supermarket says the service is intended to give shoppers greater flexibility while broadening the range of services available at its stores.

According to Morrisons, the self-service lockers will handle parcel collections and returns involving multiple delivery companies. They can also support other services, including retail click-and-collect, prescription collection, key exchange and the retrieval of spare parts.

The supermarket’s partnership with Quadient initially focused on smaller Morrisons Daily stores before being extended to the company’s larger supermarket estate. Following the installation of lockers at 125 supermarkets in June, the programme is set to cover around 500 stores across the retailer’s network over the coming months.

John Parry, Morrisons’ head of popular and useful services, said the company was committed to providing services that make life easier for customers and strengthen the role of its stores within local communities.

“Following the success of our Morrisons Daily partnership, expanding Quadient lockers into our supermarket estate is a natural next step,” Parry said. “This partnership enables us to offer customers greater flexibility and convenience while enhancing the range of useful services available through our stores.”

The move means customers will be able to combine parcel collections or returns with a supermarket visit, rather than treating the two as separate errands. The lockers operate on a self-service basis and are designed to accommodate parcels from a range of delivery firms.

According to recent consumer research by Quadient, 60 per cent of shoppers prefer parcel lockers located at supermarkets. The same research found that 59 per cent want to manage deliveries from multiple carriers through a single collection point. Quadient’s open locker network already extends beyond the UK. The company has installed more than 27,000 locker units worldwide and aims to increase that number to 40,000 by 2030.

Parcel Lockers Are Moving Into Hundreds of Larger Morrisons Stores
