The offer comes as public charging costs remain an important consideration for electric vehicle owners planning summer travel. The discount applies across MFG EV Power’s nationwide network and does not require a subscription or membership to access.

Public charging operator Motor Fuel Group has introduced a temporary reduction in charging prices across its UK ultra-rapid network. The new tariff took effect on 1 July and will remain in place until 30 September 2026, covering every MFG EV Power charging location.

According to MFG, drivers using its chargers will pay 59p per kWh instead of the previous 79p per kWh, representing a 25% reduction. The company estimates that motorists could save around £6 on a typical charging session, while examples published by industry outlet Electrifying suggest savings of £8.40 for a 10-80% charge in a Tesla Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, £7.28 for a Renault 5 Comfort Range and £10.50 for a Nissan Leaf Extended Range.

Discount Applies across More than 600 Locations

The reduced charging price is available throughout MFG EV Power’s network of more than 2,000 charging bays at almost 600 locations across the UK. According to MFG, the chargers are installed at fuel forecourts as well as nearly 300 Morrisons supermarkets, with additional sites located at retail and food outlets including Greggs, Pret A Manger, Burger King, Subway and Costa.

The network includes ultra-rapid chargers delivering outputs of 150kW, 300kW and up to 400kW. According to MFG, these charging speeds can add approximately 100 miles of driving range in around 10 minutes, depending on vehicle compatibility.

Drivers do not need a subscription or connection fee to use the discounted tariff. Payments can be made using contactless bank cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay or through the MFG EV Power mobile application.

Martin Symes, EV Director at Motor Fuel Group, said the price reduction reflects the company’s commitment to EV drivers during the summer travel period. He said the lower tariff was intended to make journeys “cheaper, greener, and hassle-free” while offering one of the country’s lowest ultra-rapid charging prices.
