Aldi has announced price reductions on more than 200 products<\/strong> across its UK stores as households continue to face pressure on grocery spending. The supermarket chain said the changes apply to a broad range of items, including fresh food, frozen products, alcohol and personal care goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retailer said it has invested more than \u00a3200 million in maintaining lower prices during 2026, including \u00a360 million <\/strong>in reductions introduced this week. According to Aldi UK, the latest cuts are aimed at helping customers manage the cost of their weekly shop during the summer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The changes affect all 1,080 Aldi stores <\/strong>across the UK. Several products highlighted by the retailer include reductions on British beef steaks, ice cream items and selected wines and spirits. Aldi described the move as part of its ongoing pricing strategy as competition among UK supermarkets remains intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to figures released by Worldpanel by Numerator and cited by the Daily Express, Aldi currently holds a 10.8%<\/strong> share of the UK grocery market, making it the country\u2019s fourth-largest supermarket by market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price Reductions Include Food, Alcohol and Summer Essentials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among the products included in the latest round of reductions are several fresh meat items<\/strong>. Aldi confirmed that customers can save 50p on selected British beef steaks, including its 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak, now priced at \u00a34.69, the 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak at \u00a35.99, and the 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak at \u00a36.79.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retailer has also lowered prices on seasonal frozen products<\/strong>. Gianni Ice Cream Lollies and Watermelon Fruit Lollies have both been reduced from \u00a31.99 to \u00a31.79. Ice Cream Cookies have also fallen in price, from \u00a32.49 to \u00a31.95.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aldi confirmed reductions on selected alcoholic drinks as well. Its New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc now costs \u00a36.99, down from \u00a37.49, while the Aperini Spritz 4-Pack has been reduced from \u00a35.99 to \u00a35.49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The supermarket also announced a smaller reduction on one of its summer skincare products. Lacura SPF50+<\/strong> Sensitive Lotion now costs \u00a33.29 instead of \u00a33.49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, the reductions span everyday household categories rather than focusing on a single department. Aldi <\/a>said the affected products include cupboard staples, household items and personal care goods alongside fresh and frozen food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aldi Says Customers Remain Focused on Managing Household Budgets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Julie Ashfield<\/a>, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said the supermarket continues to review prices as customers remain cautious about spending. Speaking about the latest reductions, she said shoppers are still looking for ways to control the cost of their weekly grocery bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow more than ever, we know that customers are looking to manage their budgets for the weekly shop, which is why we\u2019re constantly reviewing prices across our range<\/em>,\u201d Ashfield said, according to Aldi UK statements reported on Thursday. She added that the latest reductions were intended to provide value across a wide selection of products \u201cwithout compromising on quality<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement comes on the same day new grocery market figures were released in the UK. According to Worldpanel by Numerator, Tesco remained the country\u2019s largest supermarket group over the 12 weeks to May 17, with a market share of 28.2%. Sainsbury\u2019s followed with 15.2%, while Asda held 11.5%.
