Octopus Energy has introduced a new fleet-focused service designed to help businesses transition from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric alternatives. The initiative brings together charging access, payment systems and home reimbursement tools in a single platform aimed at simplifying electrification.

The launch reflects growing corporate demand for integrated electric vehicle solutions, as companies seek to manage costs and operational complexity while shifting to low-emission transport. According to reports, the UK’s largest energy supplier says the new system is structured to support fleets of all sizes.

A Unified Platform for Fleet Electrification

The new service, branded Octopus Fleet, consolidates several existing products into a single offer for business customers. It provides access to fleet payment tools, home and public charging options, electricity tariffs, and electric vehicle charger, solar and battery installations.

At the center of the public charging offer is Octopus Electroverse, described as Europe’s largest public charging network. According to coverage of the launch, Electroverse provides access to more than 1.3 million charge points across more than 50 countries. This global reach is intended to support companies operating both within the UK and internationally.

Octopus has partnerships with major charging providers including Ubitricity, Shell Recharge, MFG, InstaVolt, Osprey and Gridserve, broadening access across different networks. Fleets are also offered a Fleet Charging Card and a business payments card powered by Visa, integrating charging, fueling and other fleet-related expenses such as travel and vehicle washing into a single platform.

Matt Davies, director of Octopus Electroverse and Octopus Fleet, said the company had seen that while choosing an electric vehicle is becoming easier, scaling up electrification across varied business models can present challenges. According to statements reported at launch, he said the aim was to provide “a menu of simple products” that work regardless of how a fleet operates, covering public, home and depot charging while supporting existing vehicles during the transition.

Home Charging Reimbursement and Growing EV Uptake

Alongside the fleet platform, Octopus has introduced a Home Charging Reimbursement scheme targeted at company car drivers. The system allows drivers to plug in their vehicle at home and select whether a session is for business or personal use. The technology then automatically reimburses the driver’s energy account for business-related charging.

According to reports, the service consolidates home charging reimbursements into a single invoice for fleets, reducing the need for manual expense claims. The cost of the reimbursement service is set at £9.50 per driver per month, in addition to the energy used for business charging sessions.

Octopus is also active in the salary sacrifice market for electric vehicles. More than 6,500 employers are signed up to its scheme, enabling drivers to save up to 40 per cent on the cost of an EV, according to published figures. In 2025, the company recorded increased interest in Chinese electric models, including the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo E5 battery electric vehicle.

The Omoda E5 was ranked as the most popular electric vehicle last year, while the Jaecoo E5 became the top-selling EV through Octopus EV in the final quarter of 2025, according to company data cited in coverage of the launch. Chris Clayton, head of fleet at Omoda and Jaecoo UK, said early sales performance indicated strong demand among fleet and salary sacrifice customers, highlighting interest in competitive total cost of ownership and straightforward ordering processes.

Together, these measures position Octopus Energy as expanding its role beyond energy supply into integrated fleet electrification services, as businesses navigate the practicalities of switching to electric transport.
