UK consumers are being urged to check their bank statements for stealthy transactions that may be quietly siphoning funds from their accounts. Recent research<\/strong> highlights a widespread issue, with many unaware they\u2019ve been enrolled into ongoing payments through misleading subscriptions and deceptive online sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The warning comes as the National Trading Standards (NTS<\/strong>) reveals the increasing threat posed by so-called \u201csilent scams\u201d, a term used to describe the accumulation of small, often overlooked charges that can persist for months undetected. These scams rely on minimal sums going unnoticed, but collectively they are costing UK households millions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More than 20 million adults in the UK have unwittingly signed up for a subscription, according to National Trading Standards. Out of these, approximately 4.7 million<\/strong> are still making payments for services they never knowingly agreed to.
