The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and employers are advancing their disbursements due to the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. But with the next payment scheduled for late January, many could face a longer-than-usual wait and find themselves caught in what MoneySavingExpert<\/strong> has called a \u201cDecember pay trap\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most employers are expected to release December wages earlier than usual to accommodate the festive period. According to a warning issued by MoneySavingExpert on X, this can offer short-term relief but often causes problems further down the line. \u201cWhile this can be helpful for many, it also means your next pay day is even further away<\/em>,\u201d the platform posted, adding, \u201cyou could risk running out of money before then.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed that payments due on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, 25 and 26 December<\/strong>, will be made on Christmas Eve. Payments scheduled for New Year\u2019s Day will be issued on 31 December.
