The site offers direct access to a potential catchment of <strong>15 million people<\/strong> within one hour of the airport, including seven million living within a 30-mile radius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.a4esummit.eu\/a4e_speakers\/steve-heapy\/#:~:text=Steve%20joined%20Jet2%20plc%20in,Executive%20Director%20in%20June%202013.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steve Heapy<\/a><\/strong>, CEO of Jet2, this move reflects long-standing ambitions. \u201cFor many years, our ambition has been to provide our differentiated, service led, end-to-end product offering from London Gatwick,\u201d he said. \u201cWe see this as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to accelerate our growth from the UK\u2019s largest beach and city leisure destination airport.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gatwick will become Jet2\u2019s <strong>14th UK base<\/strong>, alongside operations in <em>Manchester<\/em>, <em>Birmingham<\/em>, <em>Edinburgh<\/em>, and others. The airline has secured permissions to operate six aircraft at the airport.
