This adjustment is being made to ensure that individuals receive their benefits before the bank holiday, as DWP offices and phone lines will be closed on May 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has taken these steps to avoid delays and potential disruptions for recipients who would otherwise not receive their payments on time during the holiday. To make sure people get their payment on a day when our offices are open, arrangements have been made to make some payments early.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This change affects a wide range of benefits, including :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>State Pension<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal Independence Payment (PIP)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Universal Credit<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adult Disability Payment (ADP)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Attendance Allowance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have also adjusted their payment schedules. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/uk\/two-child-benefit-rising-child-poverty\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"108289\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Child Benefit<\/a><\/strong> payments administered by HMRC will follow the same early payment schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exemptions and Other Considerations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that individuals whose regular payment date does not fall on the bank holiday will receive their payment as usual. Additionally, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/uk\/list-scotland-1-9-billion-unique-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"100004\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Security Scotland<\/a><\/strong> has confirmed that <strong>Best Start Foods payments<\/strong> will not be affected by the early payment changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/uk\/21-uk-bank-holiday-dates-for-2025-and-2026\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"108451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spring Bank Holiday<\/a> on Monday, May 26 will also result in early benefit payments. DWP is expected to confirm that payments due on this date will be issued earlier, on Friday, May 23. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HMRC and Social Security Scotland have already confirmed that Child Benefit and other devolved payments will be made on the same date, Friday, May 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DWP has confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/uk\/dwp-rolls-out-mobile-jobcentres\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"104057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jobcentres<\/a>, offices, and phone lines will be closed on Monday, May 5 for the bank holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normal services will resume on Tuesday, May 6, when all facilities will reopen as usual.
