Millions of people receiving Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits could now access low-cost broadband for as little as \u00a312 per month. As reported by Birmingham Live<\/a><\/em>, a new system has been introduced that allows broadband providers to quickly verify eligibility through a DWP IT system<\/strong>, making it easier for low-income households to sign up for social tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discounted broadband offers are available to those receiving Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Income Support, Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Attendance Allowance, Reduced Earnings Allowance, or Care Leavers\u2019 Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who qualify for social tariff broadband can check their eligibility through the Ofcom website, where a list of participating broadband providers is available. Many major providers, including BT, Sky, Virgin Media, Vodafone, NOW Broadband, Hyperoptic, KCOM, and 4th Utility, offer social tariff deals starting at \u00a312 per month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
