UK households are to receive a new energy bill support payment amounting to £150. Residents of permanent park homes are being urged to apply for this crucial assistance to help mitigate the impact of soaring energy costs this winter.
Energy Payment Available for Permanent Park Home Residents in the UK
Eligible residents of permanent park homes and static caravans across England, Scotland, and Wales can apply for the £150 payment to contribute towards their gas or electricity bills. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This initiative has been described as a “lifesaver” and also includes provisions for essential items such as fridges and freezers.
Background and Funding of the Support Scheme
Launched in 2016, the scheme has been a collaborative effort between the previous government and Charis Grants, in partnership with Ofgem, to support fuel-poor households residing in park homes. This year, the initiative is being generously funded by a consortium of energy providers, including E.ON Next, Utilita, OVO, and Rebel Energy.

Concerns Over Rising Energy Prices and Call for Action
Stuart Anderson MP expressed concern over the impending rise in energy prices, noting that the Energy Price Cap is set to increase by an additional £21 in January, following an earlier hike in October. This cumulative adjustment will result in a total increase of £170 in the cap on typical annual bills since October, representing a rise of more than 10%.
Anderson emphasised the importance of ensuring that vulnerable households receive the necessary support during these challenging times, welcoming the Charis Park Homes Warm Home Discount Scheme. He urged all eligible residents to submit their applications promptly, as a significant portion of funding remains available.
Addressing Overlooked Needs
Jonathan Hunt, Director of Clients at Charis, highlighted the often-overlooked individuals within society. He underscored the necessity of making these residents aware of the financial assistance to which they are entitled, as many may be facing considerable pressures despite the availability of such help.
