Uber One’s £5 Million Giveaway Lets UK Users Claim Free Disney+ and Food Discounts Now

Uber has launched a major giveaway in the UK, offering free Disney+ subscriptions for a year, McDonald’s nuggets, and various food and supermarket discounts as part of its £5 million promotional campaign. This initiative aims to provide significant savings and exclusive perks to users of its subscription service, Uber One.

The promotion runs from May 16 to May 23, and is available to both existing Uber One members and new users who can claim a free trial. It highlights the growing trend of apps enhancing user experience through bundled offers, combining entertainment, food, and retail benefits.

A Wide Range of Perks for Uber One Subscribers

Uber is providing its UK subscribers with a diverse set of freebies and discounts during its “Member Days” event, which according to Danielle Sheridan, Head of Global Membership at Uber, is “about bringing a little more joy and everyday value” to users. 

Subscribers to Uber One, which costs £4.99 per month, can claim a free year of Disney+, usually priced at nearly £60 for the basic plan. This represents a substantial entertainment saving.

Additionally, users can enjoy a free 9-piece McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets box and discounts on food from popular outlets such as Pizza Express, Burger King, Rosa’s Thai, and Itsu. Supermarket discounts are also included, offering 25% off alcohol at Waitrose, 25% off meals at Asda, and 50% off snacks at Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Morrisons, and Co-op.

Seven lucky subscribers will also win 1 million Avios points to spend on travel, while others can access a free one-month trial of ClassPass with five credits, alongside 1,000 Boots Advantage Card points.

Engagement Beyond Discounts: A Physical and Digital Experience

Beyond the digital deals, Uber is distributing “Golden” Uber One envelopes in major UK cities. These envelopes contain additional freebies such as Uber credits and free Uber One trial extensions, encouraging in-person engagement and enhancing the sense of exclusivity around the promotion.

The company’s effort to offer value through both random acts of kindness and structured deals reflects a strategic move to bolster user loyalty and attract new customers to the Uber One subscription. This promotion underlines Uber’s wider ambition to integrate more lifestyle benefits into its services, extending beyond ride-hailing and food delivery.

The Uber One Member Days run for just over a week, ending on May 23, making it a time-sensitive opportunity for UK consumers to access significant savings and exclusive offers. 

According to Uber, the initiative is part of a broader vision to brighten members’ weeks and provide “everyday value” through a blend of entertainment, travel, and dining incentives.
