The Scope of the Recall and the Affected Models
According to reports from multiple sources, the vehicles involved in the recall are all equipped with the 1.2-litre PureTech engine. The list of affected models includes popular vehicles such as the Citroen C3, C3 Aircross, and C4X; Peugeot 208 and 2008; Vauxhall Corsa, Astra, and Mokka; Fiat 600; and Jeep Avenger, among others. These cars were manufactured between July and October 2025, and a total of 392 units are thought to be at risk.
The issue stems from the high-pressure fuel pipe between the fuel pump and the fuel rail, which could become loose due to an insufficient tightening of nuts and screws, according to Stellantis. The faulty connection could cause fuel to leak under high pressure, creating a fire hazard. However, the company has assured owners that the repair is straightforward and can be completed in under half an hour. The fix involves re-tightening the nut connections and screws, and it is being offered free of charge.
Previous Recalls and Ongoing Safety Measures
This recall follows a larger-scale action taken by Stellantis in 2025, which affected more than 72,000 vehicles. That earlier recall was linked to the same underlying issue with the high-pressure fuel pipe. The company’s proactive response in the UK is part of an ongoing effort to address the fault across its brands and ensure customer safety.
In addition to the fuel leak risk, Stellantis has faced other safety issues in recent months. A separate recall was issued in September 2025, involving some Citroen and Vauxhall models, where a defect could cause the brake pedal to detach during use, posing a significant safety threat.
With more than 390 cars involved in this recall, owners of affected models are encouraged to contact their dealer network as soon as possible to arrange a repair.
