Homebase is set to open 14 new garden centres in April, marking a significant step in the retailer’s comeback following its previous struggles. As reported by Express.co.uk, these garden centres will open inside The Range superstores, offering customers a wide range of premium plants and essential gardening accessories. This expansion comes after Homebase’s recovery plan, which included saving 70 stores and 1,600 jobs by forming a partnership with The Range.

In a Facebook post, Homebase confirmed the locations of three more sites opening in April: Drakehouse Park in Sheffield (by Crystal Peaks), Haverfordwest, and Rayleigh Weir. These locations will join the previously announced openings, bringing the total to 14 new garden centres across the UK.

April’s New Garden Centres – Locations Revealed

The new garden centres will be inside The Range superstores that were once former Homebase units, creating fresh and vibrant shopping spaces for gardening enthusiasts. Customers can expect to find a selection of premium house and garden plants, along with accessories for all their gardening needs.

Homebase confirmed the new openings in a recent post on Facebook, writing:

“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! THREE more ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ have been confirmed for April openings!
Drakehouse Park, Sheffield (by Crystal Peaks).
Haverfordwest.
Rayleigh Weir.
These brand-new garden centres will be blooming inside your new The Range superstores—right in the former Homebase units! Expect our best picks of premium house & garden plants, plus all the must-have accessories for your green-fingered projects!”

In addition to Drakehouse Park, Haverfordwest, and Rayleigh Weir, the locations opening in April also include:

  • Balloo Park, Bangor
  • Godalming
  • Sittingbourne
  • Telford
  • Stirling
  • Truro
  • Plymouth
  • Woking

These sites are part of Homebase’s expansion plan, with new stores designed to enhance its presence in the garden and DIY retail sector. The focus is on giving customers a variety of plant options and the tools they need to tackle gardening projects.

Homebase’s Road to Recovery

After its administration last year, Homebase has shown resilience, successfully revitalizing former stores and turning them into thriving garden centres within The Range stores. The 14 new openings in April are a critical part of this recovery as the company continues its strategy of adapting to consumer demand for home and garden products.

The partnership with The Range has been pivotal in rebuilding Homebase. While some former Homebase locations will now house stores like B&Q and Wickes, the garden centres will remain an essential part of the Homebase offering, delivering high-quality plants and home improvement products to garden lovers across the UK.
