A Burger King branch in Erdington, Birmingham, has reopened its doors following a refurbishment—and it’s marking the occasion in grand fashion. The first 1,000 customers today will receive a free Whopper or Chicken Royale, and one lucky visitor will win an entire year’s supply of fast food.

The fast-food giant says the revamped location on Kingsbury Road will offer extended opening hours and upgraded services, with a stronger focus on the customer experience.

Refurbishment Aims to Boost Customer Experience

The Erdington branch of Burger King, located at 902-904 Kingsbury Road, welcomed customers again from 9am today following a complete interior and service overhaul. As part of the relaunch, the store will now operate from 9am until midnight, allowing customers to access food and drinks for an extended period each day.

According to Burger King UK, the branch has also introduced table service, a move aimed at enhancing the convenience and comfort of in-house dining.

Restaurant manager Shati Bibi expressed optimism about the reopening, stating: “The team and I are thrilled to return and service our customers in Erdington. We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new guests to experience the renovated restaurant. We’re confident they’ll have a fantastic time while enjoying our delicious meals.”

To mark the occasion, the fast-food chain announced a major giveaway. The first 1,000 customers who arrive at the newly refurbished store will receive a free Whopper or Chicken Royale burger. In addition, the 100th person to place an order will win a year’s supply of Burger King meals.

Promotional Strategy Draws in Local Crowds

The relaunch forms part of a wider brand strategy to attract foot traffic and generate visibility at the local level.

In recent years, Burger King has increasingly used localised promotional campaigns to engage communities and stimulate interest around updated branches. Erdington’s giveaway reflects this approach, combining large-scale offers with regional outreach.

Breakfast promotions are also in place, with deals such as a breakfast butty and a coffee for £3.49, aimed at drawing in early morning customers. The brand’s broader objective appears to centre on positioning itself as a more versatile and accessible option throughout the day.

While promotional food giveaways are not new, tying the event to a store reopening and refurbishment gives added incentive for customers to visit in person. This approach may also help strengthen customer loyalty in a competitive fast-food landscape, especially as chains face increasing pressure to enhance both affordability and in-store experience.
