Asda Announces Big Christmas Fuel Discount—3p Off Every Litre at 500 Locations

In a move to help UK consumers save on fuel costs during the holiday season, Asda has introduced a limited-time offer at almost 500 of its Asda Express stores. The new initiative, running from December 1 to December 31, promises a 3p per litre discount on fuel purchases for customers who spend £15 or more on groceries at the same store.

With fuel prices continuing to strain household budgets, Asda’s seasonal offer is set to provide a much-needed relief for shoppers. The discount, which is part of the supermarket’s efforts to assist its customers during the festive period, comes as the retailer continues to expand its network of Express stores across the UK.

A Seasonal Fuel Discount for Shoppers

Asda’s latest offer focuses on helping drivers save on fuel at a time when many are preparing for travel over the Christmas period. According to the british supermarket, the discount is available at participating Asda Express stores when customers spend £15 or more on groceries before paying for fuel. The 3p per litre discount applies immediately after the shopping transaction, which means customers can save at the pump while stocking up on holiday essentials.

Joseph Sutton, Vice President at Asda Express, foodservice and fuel, commented on the initiative, stating, “We know every penny matters for our customers. This offer gives people a little extra help – letting them save on fuel while offering unbeatable value as they stock up on everyday essentials or festive treats in the run-up to Christmas.”

The offer is valid throughout December, which is typically a time when fuel prices rise in anticipation of increased demand. The supermarket giant hopes to make the season a bit more affordable for consumers with this timely discount.

Asda’s Expanding Network of Convenience Stores

The new fuel discount comes as part of Asda’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in the convenience store sector. According to Asda, the retailer has been aggressively opening new Asda Express stores across the UK, with the most recent one launched in Liverpool on November 26. This location marked Asda’s first store in the heart of the city, offering convenience to local residents and commuters.

Asda’s move into the convenience store market follows a trend seen by other major retailers aiming to provide customers with easier access to everyday essentials. As of late 2025, the company plans to open more Express stores, responding to the growing demand for quick-stop shopping. This expansion is in line with Asda’s ongoing efforts to compete with other convenience store chains like Tesco Express and Sainsbury’s Local.

In addition to fuel discounts, Express stores also offer a selection of groceries, fresh food, and on-the-go meals. The convenience model is proving increasingly popular, especially for time-strapped shoppers or those looking for last-minute festive items.

Baileys Deal and Other Offers

In addition to the fuel discount, Asda has also introduced another seasonal offer to attract customers during the busy Christmas shopping period. The retailer recently reduced the price of its 1L Baileys bottles to £10 across England and Wales, down from £13.98. However, the price in Scotland has been adjusted to £11.05 due to local alcohol pricing regulations.

Due to high demand, the supermarket has set a three-bottle limit per customer on the Baileys deal, which is available until Sunday, November 30. This promotion, alongside the fuel discount, reflects Asda’s commitment to offering competitive prices on festive goods.

Asda’s new offer at its Express stores is just one example of how retailers are adjusting their services to meet the needs of customers during the economically challenging festive season. The supermarket’s combination of fuel discounts and promotional pricing on popular products like Baileys aims to provide both savings and convenience for shoppers in the lead-up to Christmas.
