Aldi has confirmed a series of extensive upgrades for 20 of its UK stores by the end of 2025, marking a significant investment in enhancing the in-store experience. The retailer’s latest phase of renovations includes store extensions, sustainability improvements, and redesigned layouts to meet growing customer demands. These upgrades follow Aldi’s successful rollout of store enhancements across over 500 locations in recent years.

Aldi’s Expansion and Commitment to Customer Experience

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving the customer shopping experience, Aldi is investing heavily in upgrading and extending its stores. According to Aldi UK, two stores will undergo major extensions in the coming months, while a further 21 will receive a variety of improvements.

Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, explained: “Our investment into our store estate is part of our ongoing commitment to provide the very best shopping experience for our customers. By extending and refreshing our existing sites, we’re providing more sustainable and convenient stores, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of the communities they serve for years to come.”

The investment reflects Aldi’s broader strategy of upgrading stores with modernised layouts and an emphasis on environmental sustainability. New features will include more space for fresh and chilled products, wider aisles, and the integration of sustainability improvements designed to lower the environmental impact of its operations.
