The affected product is a tall glass latte mug with a curved handle, sold under Tesco’s F&F brand. It carries the barcode 05057967613311 and was manufactured in China. Tesco has said that all batches sold during the specified period are covered by the recall.
The supermarket described the action as a precautionary measure and said no other Tesco products are affected. Customers do not need a receipt to obtain a refund.
Why the Tesco Glass Mug Has Been Recalled
The main concern relates to the possibility of the glass breaking while the mug is in use. According to the OPSS recall notice, if the mug shatters while holding a hot drink, the user could be burned by the liquid or injured by pieces of broken glass.
The authority also stated that the product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. The official recall notice lists the product under kitchen and cooking accessories and confirms that Tesco has recalled it from end users.
Tesco said the problem was linked to “a manufacturing issue that may cause the glass mug to break during normal use, posing a risk of injury”. The company is recalling all F&F Home Glass Latte Mugs purchased between September 2025 and August 2026 inclusive.
Customers are being advised not to continue using the mug even if it currently appears undamaged. The official instruction is to return the affected product to any Tesco store, where a full refund will be provided without proof of purchase.

The Recall Follows a Separate Sainsbury’s Product Warning
The Tesco action comes shortly after a separate recall involving three TU shopper bags sold through Sainsbury’s and Argos. That recall, published on 28 September 2026, concerns excessive concentrations of phthalates and is classified by the OPSS as presenting a serious chemical risk.
According to the OPSS, the affected products are the Tu Pu Tan Curved Top Shopper, Tu Black Croc Winged Tote Bag and Tu Brown Belt Handled Core Shopper. The authority states that phthalates may harm children’s health and potentially cause damage to the reproductive system.
Those bags do not meet the requirements of the REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008. Sainsbury’s and Argos have asked customers to stop using them and return them for a full refund.
The Tesco recall is separate and concerns only the F&F Glass Latte Mug identified by barcode 05057967613311. Tesco has said that no other products are affected by its recall.
