Sainsbury’s has introduced a limited-time price reduction on selected fruit and vegetables across more than 1,400 supermarkets in the UK. The offer gives Nectar members access to 50% discounts on eight products from the retailer’s SO Organic range between 10 September and 13 September 2026.

The promotion applies in participating stores and online, with customers required to use a linked Nectar account to receive the lower prices. The move forms part of Sainsbury’s wider efforts to encourage customers to buy more fruit and vegetables while keeping these products affordable.

Nectar Members Receive Discounts on Eight SO Organic Products

According to reports, the reduced prices include several everyday fruit and vegetable items from the SO Organic range. A six-pack of SO Organic Fairtrade Bananas has been reduced from £1.90 to 95p, while a four-pack of kiwi fruits is available for 90p.

The offer also includes a 700g bag of SO Organic Carrots, reduced from £1.35 to 67p, and a 200g pack of British Young Spinach, which has fallen from £2 to £1. British Celery is available for 70p instead of £1.40 during the promotion. Other products included in the price reduction are a 750g pack of onions at 82p, spring onions at 60p per bunch, and a 750g bag of baby salad potatoes priced at 75p. The discounts are available only for a short period, ending on Sunday, 13 September.

In physical stores, shoppers need to scan their Nectar card at checkout to receive the reduced prices. Customers buying groceries online will see the discounts applied automatically if their Nectar and Sainsbury’s accounts are connected.

According to The Sun, the offer is available to Nectar members through both selected supermarkets and the retailer’s online grocery service. The newspaper reported that the promotion covers eight products and is designed to reduce the cost of common fruit and vegetable purchases for customers during the promotional period.

Sainsbury’s Uses Loyalty Scheme to Support Healthier Choices

The promotion follows previous plans from Sainsbury’s to use its Nectar loyalty programme to encourage healthier shopping habits. The retailer has stated that it wants to increase fruit and vegetable sales and explore ways of rewarding customers who choose healthier options.

The latest discount applies specifically to products within the SO Organic range, which includes organic and British-grown items among the products listed in the offer. The reduced prices are available while stocks last and only during the stated promotional dates.

According to the Express, Sainsbury’s has used its Nectar Prices system to provide targeted discounts for customers, with the latest offer focusing on fruit and vegetables. The supermarket has not announced any extension to the promotion beyond 13 September. The four-day reduction gives Nectar members a limited opportunity to purchase selected fresh produce at lower prices. After the offer period ends, the products are expected to return to their usual prices unless further promotions are introduced by the retailer.
