The initiative is linked to the football World Cup, with the value of each voucher referencing 1966, the year England’s men’s team last won the tournament on home soil. According to the information released by Lidl, 25,000 vouchers will be distributed through the promotion.
The offer is available to eligible Lidl Plus members shopping in England and Wales. Customers must spend a minimum of £10 in store, scan their Lidl Plus app at the checkout and then enter the prize draw through the app before the closing date.
The retailer said the vouchers are intended to arrive ahead of the tournament’s closing stages, giving successful entrants the opportunity to use them for shopping later in the week. The digital coupons will remain valid for a limited period after they become available.
Prize Draw Linked to Lidl Plus App and Minimum In-Store Spend
According to Lidl, entry into the promotion is restricted to Lidl Plus members aged 18 or over. To qualify, shoppers must make an in-store purchase of at least £10 in England or Wales before scanning their Lidl Plus app at the checkout. After completing the purchase, customers must also enter the prize draw within the Lidl Plus app.
The retailer stated that 25,000 digital vouchers, each worth £19.66, are available through the promotion. The amount was selected as a reference to England’s 1966 World Cup victory. The vouchers will not be issued immediately after entry. Instead, Lidl said they will become redeemable in store through Lidl Plus from Friday, 17 July. The promotion itself closes on Wednesday, 15 July, after which no further entries will be accepted.

Voucher Validity and Retailer Comments on the Promotion
According to Lidl, the £19.66 vouchers can be used towards future in-store purchases and must be redeemed by 23 July 2026. Customers who receive a voucher will access it digitally through the Lidl Plus app rather than in paper form.
A Lidl spokesperson said the promotion is intended to coincide with the football tournament, suggesting that shoppers could use the vouchers when buying refreshments or snacks. The spokesperson referred to products including Lidl’s Freeway Cola multipack and the retailer’s Snack Stadium, while noting that the vouchers would arrive ahead of the final and could be used “to help toast a victory or soften the blow, whatever the final whistle brings“.
The spokesperson also confirmed that the Lidl Plus prize draw would remain open until 15 July and that successful customers would be able to use their digital coupons from 17 July. According to the retailer, all vouchers issued through the promotion must be redeemed by 23 July, bringing the offer to a close within less than a week of becoming available.
