Households have only a limited time to claim free payments from the Household Support Fund (HSF), which is offering more than £57 million in unclaimed support.

This allocation of funds, worth £421 million has been given to councils around England, with some homes qualifying for up to £600. Creditspring's recent analysis found that councils still need to allocate these monies before the September 30 deadline.

Household Support Fund Still Offers Free Payments for Eligible Residents

According to BirminghamLive, a report shared with The Sun revealed that nearly 100 councils have yet to allocate their share of the Household Support Fund, introduced by the previous Conservative government. In fact, 22 local authorities still have over £1 million to distribute, with Walsall Council alone holding £1,342,860 in unspent funds for residents in need.

Families with dependent children or those getting a council tax reduction obtained £300 grant payments automatically this summer. Others continue to submit applications for the money through the council's website.

If you do not fulfil the conditions specified above, you can apply for similar assistance if you are 16 or older, are located in Walsall, or are experiencing financial difficulties. Your request will not be evaluated unless  bank statements for all of your accounts are included.

Other Eligibility Requirements for the Household Support Fund

You qualify if you are in charge of paying the rent, mortgage, energy or water bills for the place where you live, have combined household capital of less than £6,000, and are a single applicant working with a total household income of less than £25,000. You must also submit your pay stubs to back the application you submitted.

You may also be qualified if you are joint applicants at work and have a total household income of less than £30,000. Furthermore, you will need to upload pay stubs to support your application.
