Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the changes coming your way in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Centrelink Payment Increases: Who\u2019s Getting More?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From March 20, millions of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/au\/pensioners-become-worlds-wealthiest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Age Pensioners<\/a>, JobSeekers, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.econostrum.info\/au\/ndis-employment-scheme-supports-australians\/\">Disability Support Pension<\/a> recipients, carers, and parents will see their payments <strong>go up<\/strong>. Key changes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New Workforce Australia and Disability Employment Services participants won\u2019t face compliance action the first time they miss a requirement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those working at least 30 hours per fortnight for two months won\u2019t lose their Centrelink payments if they miss an appointment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Centrelink staff will review all penalty cases before cutting payments, instead of automatic suspensions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a <strong>big shift<\/strong> from the previous system, where missing a <strong>single appointment<\/strong> could lead to <strong>immediate financial penalties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Work Flexibility for Carers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carers <\/strong>are also getting a break, with new rules allowing them to <strong>work more hours<\/strong> without losing their <strong>Carer Payment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From March 20, carers can work up to 100 hours in a four-week period, instead of the previous 25 hours per week limit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They will still need to report their hours, but won\u2019t have to include study, training, volunteering, or travel time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If carers exceed 100 hours, they can use respite days to keep their payment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means greater work flexibility for carers who are juggling financial needs and family responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With <strong>cost-of-living pressures mounting<\/strong>, these payment increases and rule changes come as a much-needed relief for millions of Australians.
